Tax Form Haiku

January 16th, 2008 · No Comments

The blank form beckons
“How will you spend your refund?”
They’re optimistic.

Tax form ten-forty
Subtract line nine from line ten
I owe them how much?!

For better or worse,
Taxes filed; the tax man paid.
Sleeping well tonight.

Hello, tax refund.
Goodbye, credit card balance.
Goodbye, tax refund.

Collected and adapted by Yvonne Loomis.
