This January the Brown Bag Book Club will be reading and discussing “The Ginger Tree” by Oswald Wynd. This is the story of a Scottish woman who sailed to China to marry her betrothed, then became involved in an adulterous affair with a Japanese nobleman. Abandoned by her peers, she learned to survive in Asia over a period of forty tumultuous years. A bestseller in England, this bittersweet story of love and betrayal in the Far East is the source of the Masterpiece Theatre miniseries. This book is told in a journal or diary format. So plan to join us at lunchtime on Tuesday January 29th from 12:15-1:30 to discuss and share this wonderful novel. For more information contact Information Dept. at 624-6550 ext. 319.
