MCL Book Sale Volunteers Needed

September 7th, 2019 · No Comments · Books, City Library, Main Branch, News, Newsletter, Teens, West Branch

Interested in being a Book Sale volunteer? The library is looking for volunteers to help sort incoming donations, checking the condition of materials and dividing them up into various fiction and nonfiction groupings, including age ranges. The sorting of materials takes place year round. In addition to sorters, volunteers are needed to set up for sale days, help out during the sale day and take down the sale. Setting up and taking down sale events involves moving materials between our storage area of the library and the Winchell Room, the day before the sale and the day of the sale event. To apply as a volunteer at Manchester City Library, stop by the Information Desk at the Main Library and ask for a volunteer application form. If a match is found between the applicant’s interests and the needs of the library, an interview is arranged. Applicants who are eighteen and older, need to undergo a criminal background check. Applicants younger than eighteen may need to complete additional paperwork, depending upon the applicant’s age. The Library Director gives final approval of all volunteer applicants. Please contact Eileen Reddy, Volunteer Coordinator, if you have questions. She can be contacted at ereddy@manchesternh.gov or call 624-6550.
