New Website!

June 7th, 2008 · 10 Comments

Yesterday afternoon the City of Manchester launched their brand new website. This means a new look for the library too! When I was working on this, I decided to start with the cleanest slate possible so I only transfered a minimal amount of information.

The plan is to add to what is there as the need emerges. In order to know, I need your help. If, as you explore the new site, find that you miss something that used to be there, please leave a comment and let me know!

What happened to the audiobooks download link?

  • 2 Lichen // Jun 9, 2008 at 12:07 pm

    Hi Danielle,

You will find Downloadable Audiobooks under the the Find menu. Then ‘Use from Home’. Or, here’s a direct link: http://216.204.202.157/website/library/Find/Usefromhome/tabid/1029/Default.aspx

I know this will take some getting used to for our seasoned website users, but I hope it will be easier in the long run. Please feel forward to send me any suggestions you might have.

You can find the information on the Museum Passes under the find option of the new site navigation, or link direct here: http://216.204.202.157/website/library/Find/MuseumPasses/tabid/825/Default.aspx

How about putting the patron log-in as a “quick link” instead of hiding it in the hair of the statue in the upper right hand corner. Those of us with limited eyesight will have trouble finding it up there.

Also, a search link on the home page, rather than having to click “Find” first, would be helpful.

    Thank you.

Actually, the login in the hair of the statue is only for website editors… in other words, me. Patrons wishing to access their library account should click the ‘Renew Books’ link under the search box.

    Hi Lichen,
Where’s the Meeting Room Request form?
    Thanks!

  • 8 Lichen // Jun 11, 2008 at 9:30 am

The meeting room request form is under Visit Us -> Meeting Rooms and then look down to ‘Reserve a Room’. Else, here’s the direct link: http://216.204.202.157/website/library/VisitUs/MeetingRooms/tabid/1044/Default.aspx
