A note from the Director

December 10th, 2008 · No Comments · Children, City Library, Newsletter

With the economy taking a downturn, the resources available at the Manchester City Library are gaining popularity. Both library buildings have been busier then ever over the past few months. We are seeing visits and usage of library materials increasing and we appreciate assisting the members of our community. During tough economic times public libraries become very popular as we all look for ways to stretch our budgets.

A visit to the library can help you save money by checking out books, magazines and movies for free. We also offer discounts to area museums with our museum pass program. If you are looking for a free activity, check out our library calendar to see all the library programs scheduled. We have programs designed for different age groups and interests. Have you been to a book discussion or one of our concerts lately? Have you brought your child to story time or had your teen participate in our Guitar Hero tournaments? These are just a few of the activities for you and your family to enjoy.

With the arrival of winter we invite you to visit the library to stay warm and to enjoy the free resources and programs we provide.

Sincerely,
Denise M. van Zanten
Library Director
