The Manchester City Library Children’s Room is pleased to be hosting Dimensions in Dance‘s ‘The Emperor and the Nightingale’. Dimensions in Dance Summer Intensive performers ages 11-17 will present this story told through movement. Narrated by Academy Award nominee Glenn Close, with music by Grammy-winning composer Mark Isham, The Emperor and the Nightingale is the story of an Emperor who banishes a nightingale from his court in favor of a jewel-encrusted artificial singing bird. Only later does he learn that the song of the real nightingale is the true treasure. Join us on Friday, August 24th from 3-4PM. This dance performance is free and for all ages. For more information, please contact Karyn at 624-6550 ext. 335.
