Thursday Evening Book Discussion Group

Is reading one of your favorite pastimes?  Are you looking for someone to discuss your favorite books with?  Join the Manchester City Library’s Book Discussion Group.  This is a casual group that meets the second Thursday  evening of each month from September to May from 7:00 to 8:30 P.M. in the handicapped accessible Hunt Room.

The Group’s first meeting is Thursday September 13th at 7:00 PM.  We will be discussing the book Molokai by Alan Brennert.  This is a heart-wrenching novel  set in Hawaii in the 1890’s in which  a young girl contracts leprosy and is forcibly removed from her family home to live in a leper colony.  Copies of the book are currently available at the Manchester City Library Circulation Desk.

March 14th:  Warmth of Other Suns by Isabel Wilkerson
April 11th  What is the What by Dave Eggers
May 9th:  In the Garden of Beasts:  Love, Terror and An American Family in Hitler’s Berlin by Erik Larson

So consider joining our evening book discussion group.  You’ll meet other people who love to read and also get to read some interesting books!
