For October the Brown Bag Book Club has chosen to read “Pope Joan” by Donna Woolfolk. Assuming her dead brother’s identity, Joan enters a ninth century monastery where she distinguishes herself as a scholar and a healer. Eventually drawn to Rome, she finally attains the Church’s highest office, but at what cost, and did this really happen? Join us and find out! Bring your lunch and join the discussion on Tuesday, October 30th from 12:15-1:30 PM in the Hunt Room of the main branch. For more information please contact the Information Desk at 624-6550 ext. 319.
