Hi, I am so excited whenever there is a book sale! As a teacher I want to get books for my students whenever I can. However, I am very disappointed that he book sale is Friday -day. I will need to take the day off to go. :( I don’t like to do that. Is there any way you could accomodate?

We average about three used book sales a year, which were usually on Saturdays. However, some people were asking to have sales on other days than a Saturday. This year we are trying to have a mixture of days and times. In the Spring, we are hoping to combine an evening sale on the same evening as a Farmers’ Market (Thursdays).

Another factor that goes into picking a sale date is the schedule of the Winchell Room, where the sale takes place. Many activities take place in the Winchell Room, both library sponsored events and outside groups sponsored events.

The Winchell Room is not always available for browsing, because of the different events that take place in the room.

By the way, we also have the Winchell Room Bonus which is a catch when can set-up. If the room is not being used and a staff member is available, the room can be unlocked so an individual can browse the shelves and buy materials that are on the shelves. Also, if you are attending a meeting in the Winchell Room you may purchase materials that are on the shelves. During the time periods in between the sales, materials are on sale for $1.50 adult hardcover and $1.00 adult paperback, with childrens’ books at a lower price, VHS videos go for $1.00 per tape.
