First the library collected just books. Then we started collecting newspapers, then music, then videos, and then games. Now we’re collecting pasta!

During the month of May, the library will be accepting donations of pasta to support the efforts of the New Hampshire Food Bank. We’ll take boxes of pasta, bags of pasta, canned pasta, whole wheat pasta, gluten-free pasta, spaghetti, macaroni and cheese, and any other kind of pasta you can find! You can drop off donations at either the Main Library, 405 Pine Street, or the West Manchester Community Library, 76 North Main Street.

The New Hampshire Food Bank distributes over 4 million pounds of donated, surplus food to over 350 food pantries, soup kitchens, shelters, day care centers, senior citizen homes and substance abuse treatment centers. These member agencies in turn provide services to the nearly 80,000 hungry men, women and children throughout New Hampshire.

Call or e-mail Steve Viggiano at 624-6550 x 323 for more information.
