Library to Host Free Financial Aid Program

While financial aid can make college more affordable, parents and students are expected to take primary responsibility for paying for post-secondary education. In this session, we will address options for managing college costs, applying for financial aid, and discuss college funding options. Attendees will receive the Financial Aid Organizer and The Essential Pocket Guide to Scholarships. A representative from Granite State Management & Resources will be available to answer your questions.

FAFSA Website Not Letting You On?

We’ve noticed folks are having trouble accessing FAFSA online from our computers here in the library. Here is a work-around for you to try:

1. When on Firefox OR Internet Explorer, go to Tools.
2. Select Default User Agent
3. Click on Internet Explorer & Internet Explorer 6

After this all you have to do is reload the page and explore the FAFSA website. If you have any questions, please feel free to see the Information/Technology staff located in the Reading Room.

Overview of Financial Aid
January 14, 2010 – 7:00 p.m.

This event will take place at the Manchester City Library’s auditorium and will feature Jodi Abad of the University of New Hampshire Financial Aid Office.

Jodi Abad is the Associate Director of Financial Aid at UNH-Manchester. Her work focuses on the many ways to fund higher education including thorough understanding of the financial aid process and evaluating student aid packages.

Overview of Financial Aid provides students and families with a broad overview of the financial aid process, including completing the FAFSA form, how financial aid works, types of aid available to students and a basic timeline for completing the financial aid process.

This program was made possible by the University of New Hampshire Speakers Bureau which connects faculty and staff speakers with non-profit organizations to share the research and knowledge of the university with the people and communities of New Hampshire.
