Attendees will receive the Financial Aid Organizer and The Essential Pocket Guide to Scholarships. 		<description><![CDATA[Teens in grades 6-12 can compete in the second annual Anime Art contest! ]]></description>
			<content:encoded><![CDATA[<p>During <a href="http://www.ala.org/ala/mgrps/divs/yalsa/teenreading/trw/trw2011/home.cfm">Teen Read Week</a>, October 16-22 create something out of this world.  Teens in grades 6-12 can compete in the second annual Anime Art contest!  Prizes will be awarded including a gift certificate to Barnes and Noble.</p>
<p>Submission Guidelines:</p>
<p>You must include your name and phone number written on the back of the art, so we can return your art to you.  All submissions will be displayed in the Teen Area of the Manchester City Library from October 20th through November 17th.</p>
<p>You can submit your artwork by October 20, 2011 two ways:</p>
<ul>
<li> Drop the artwork off at the Manchester City Library, Circulation Desk, 405 Pine Street.</li>
</ul>
<ul>
<li> Bring the artwork with you to MCL’s Anime Club <a href="http://www.libraryinsight.com/eventdetails.asp?jx=&amp;lmx=384082&amp;v=3">meeting </a>October 20th at 4:00p.m.</li>
</ul>
<p>Paper and colored pencils will be available during Anime Club meetings for people to draw contest entries.</p>
<p>Art must be either:</p>
<ul>
<li> A character done in anime style or an established anime character in any style you choose.</li>
</ul>
<ul>
<li> Artists can submit original character drawings (a character they make up) but these characters must be drawn in an anime style.</li>
</ul>

			<content:encoded><![CDATA[<p>Area teens are encouraged to participate in “Your Are Here”, the  Manchester City Library’s summer library program from June 27th to  August 5th. Teens are invited to come to the library and read for <a href="http://www.flickr.com/photos/manchesterlibrary/4664223966/">prizes</a> as well as to take part in special <a href="https://docs.google.com/document/pub?id=1MYGYjX25GvgcLuImU2_vIlNr2eW_qQtYmpJ4EDdrRhg"></a><a href="https://docs.google.com/document/pub?id=1ykL4AMhybDL3EqH1GmJNjwiNR25c4RwYyaWEdlV1aKI">events</a> offered throughout the  summer.</p>
<p>Special <a href="https://docs.google.com/document/pub?id=1MYGYjX25GvgcLuImU2_vIlNr2eW_qQtYmpJ4EDdrRhg"></a><a href="https://docs.google.com/document/pub?id=1ykL4AMhybDL3EqH1GmJNjwiNR25c4RwYyaWEdlV1aKI">events</a> this summer will include a Rocket Launch, Anime Club meetings, Just  Dance tournaments, crafts, and more.  Participation is easy: Each time  you read a book, fill out a <a href="https://docs.google.com/document/pub?id=1K-PPL890yptJ8dXLZWeDuwELpLCig86KRW35T0lFMV0">short form</a> with the book information. <p>This <a href="http://libraryinsight.com/eventdetails.asp?jx=i1p&amp;lmx=330091&amp;v=3">event</a> will take place at the Manchester City Library in Manchester, NH and will feature Jodi Abad of the <a href="http://www.unh.edu/">University of New Hampshire</a>.</p>
<p><a href="http://www.unhm.unh.edu/faculty-staff/campus-directory/view-faculty.php?facultyID=461&amp;id=3">Jodi Abad </a>is the Associate Director of the Financial Aid Office, and has worked in the Financial Aid Office at the University of New Hampshire – Manchester since 1995. Jodi’s work focuses on the many ways to fund higher education including a thorough understanding of the financial aid process and evaluating student aid packages.</p>
<p>This program was made possible by the <a href="http://unh.edu/universityevents/speakersbureau/categorydetails.cfm?cid=55&amp;catname=University%20of%20New%20Hampshire">University of New Hampshire Speakers Bureau </a>which connects faculty and staff speakers with non-profit organizations to share the research and knowledge of the university with the people and <a href="http://www.nh.gov/nhes/elmi/communpro.htm">communities of New Hampshire</a>. Pick up books and other materials about poetry, music, and more or listen to an audiobook.</p>
<p>To help celebrate, the Manchester City Library is hosting a craft program on October 22, at 4PM in the Winchell Room.  There, teens will design a movie poster or redesigning a book cover to go with their favorite book.  All supplies will be provided, just bring your creativity!</p>

<p>This <a href="http://libraryinsight.com/eventdetails.asp?jx=i1p&amp;lmx=257656&amp;v=3">event</a> will take place at the Manchester City Library&#8217;s auditorium and will feature Jodi Abad of the University of New Hampshire Financial Aid Office.</p>
<p>Jodi Abad is the Associate Director of Financial Aid at UNH-Manchester. Her work focuses on the many ways to fund higher education including thorough understanding of the financial aid process and evaluating student aid packages.</p>
<p>Overview of Financial Aid provides students and families with a broad overview of the financial aid process, including completing the FAFSA form, how financial aid works, types of aid available to students and a basic timeline for completing the financial aid process.</p>
<p>This program was made possible by the University of New Hampshire Speakers Bureau which connects faculty and staff speakers with non-profit organizations to share the research and knowledge of the university with the people and communities of New Hampshire. </p>
