As we enter 2014 the library staff, trustees, and foundation board members continue to plan events around the Carpenter Memorial Library’s 100th Birthday Celebration!

This beautiful building was built by Frank P. Carpenter in memory of his wife Elenora Blood Carpenter. Construction started in 1912 and took two years to complete. As we enter its centennial year we will be hosting events to honor its history and to showcase how fortunate our city is to have such an architectural gem as our public library!

The building first opened to the general public in November of 1914 and in November of 2014 we will be hosting an open house to showcase the building and the services we provide from it. More information will be included in future newsletters on activities and events planned. We hope you will help us celebrate in 2014!
