On the evening of February 17, 2015 the Manchester City Library’s West Branch suffered a burst pipe that flooded the entire lower level of the building. As staff work with Facilities Division staff and ARS Restoration Specialist the branch will remain closed. At this time we do not know how much damage was incurred and we need to do a full evaluation of our collection, furnishings, equipment and the structure. We ask that all of our loyal west side users please return your materials to the Main Library at 405 Pine Street and you can pick up your holds at this location as well. If you cannot come to the main library please use the branch’s book drop which we will check once a day. We will try to reschedule as many west side events as we can at the Main Library over the course of the next few weeks. Please watch the library’s blog for more announcements as we progress with the cleanup process.
