Beekeeping is experiencing a surge in popularity across the country.  This is partly in response to concerns about the loss of large numbers of honey bees over the past several years.  This honey bee loss is referred to as Colony Collapse Disorder.  The increased interest in beekeeping has some now saying that the danger has been averted.

According to the Greenpeace organization seventy out of the top 100 human food cropswhich supply about 90 percent of the world’s nutritionare pollinated by bees!
