We think of fairies as tiny magical creatures usually in the form of young women; who use their powers to meddle in the lives of humans.

Fairies, sprites, pixies, leprechauns, gnomes and more magical creatures are found throughout literature with most originating from European folklore, especially Irish mythology.

During this month of St. Patrick the Manchester City Library has a display in the Rotunda of books on fairies and fairy tales.  You’re sure to be enchanted!
