During 2019 or the ‘Year of Rembrandt‘ artists around the world will be celebrating the anniversary of one of the world’s most respected artists, Rembrandt van Rijn. Since his death 350 years ago, he is remembered as the great master of the Golden Age and for his iconic masterpiece, the Night Watch. Tragically, his painting “The Storm on the Sea of Galilee” is still missing from Boston’s Isabella Stuart Gardner museum. As you might expect, the great gallery the Rijksmuseum in Holland will be putting on a huge exhibit showing all of their 400 Rembrandt works of art at once. Can’t make it to Holland? Well come on into the library and check out one or two of our lavish art books featuring his art or read a biography about his fascinating life.
