Author Nancy-Ann Feren will be here to do a presentation on her book ‘Not Your Average Travelers: 40 Years of Adventures in All the U.S. National Parks’. In 1977 Nancy-Ann Feren discovered a lifelong love of national parks and camping when she spent a week at Acadia National Park in Maine with her two young sons and her husband, Dick. Since then, Nancy-Ann and Dick have explored all the sites in the National Park System, enjoying the history and nature, roasting marshmallows under the stars, and sleeping soundly each night in their two-person tent. This delightful book chronicles 40 years of their memorable adventures in the parks and preserves. Nancy-Ann, a retired 5th grade teacher, has a BA from Wellesley College and an MA in teaching from the University of New Hampshire. She and her husband, Dick, live in Manchester, NH where they both grew up. Nancy-Ann loves spending time with her family, baking cookies with her grandchildren, reading, walking, camping, traveling, and sharing stories about their not-so-average travel adventures including the bear perched in a tree above their tent, canoe trips through mangrove swamps, and flights in bush planes to remote parks in Alaska. Join us on Tuesday, June 18th, at 7 PM to meet Nancy-Ann and to learn more about our National Parks. She will also have books for sale and she will sign them.
