It’s Picnic Time

July 9th, 2019 · No Comments · Books, City Library, Events, Main Branch, Teens, Uncategorized, West Branch

Now that warmer weather is finally here,  the good citizens of New Hampshire hereby proclaim it to be picnic time.  Whether you’re at camp or at one of the beautiful state parks, or in your backyard, Manchester City Library’s got you covered.

Below are helpful titles for BBQ recipes such as ribs, pork, lamb, vegetables, shrimp, lobster, you name it.  We’ve also included beloved picnic desserts like my favorite – brownies.  There are also recipes for s’mores, strawberry-rhubarb cobbler, and shall I go on?

Also included are ideas for games and other activities for the whole family, such as corn hole (also  known as hillbilly horseshoes), badminton,  croquet, dodgeball, scavenger hunts, and of course, Cherokee marbles.  You haven’t heard of Cherokee marbles?  It’s a cross between croquet, golf, and bocce ball, played as far back as 800 A.D.  This and the other games mentioned are a terrific way to work off all those brownies..

Have a great summer.  It will be gone all too quickly.
