Teen Social Distancing Challenge

April 6th, 2020 · No Comments · City Library, Events, Grades 6-12, News, Teens

Teens! Looking for something to keep you busy? From now until May 1st, Manchester teens in grades 6 to 12 are invited to participate in the Manchester City Library’s Teen Social Distancing Challenge!

There are 15 activities that you can participate in. Each activity is worth one point, and can be repeated on another day for additional points. We will also introduce bonus challenges on the Sundays of 4/12, 4/19 & 4/26. These will be worth three points if completed, but cannot be repeated. The top point-getter will win a $25 Amazon digital gift card.

After signing up, email to submit an activity, and we will keep track of the points you earn. You can share your creations with us if you are comfortable; otherwise just tell us about it. We won’t share your work with anyone else without your permission.

The challenge will end on May 1, 2020. Sign up here.

Get Creative:

  • Write a journal entry about your experiences during the pandemic.
  • Create a work of visual art.
  • Make a video.
  • Take a photograph of something interesting.
  • Create a ten-song playlist (or more, if you want).

Use Your Mind:

  • Read or listen to a book for one hour. (to repeat this activity, just tell us your total hours by 5/1)
  • Find and make a recipe.
  • Google a topic you’re interested in and share what you learned.
  • Go on a virtual museum tour.
  • Find a how-to video and try it out.

Stay Healthy:

  • Try out an exercise video or app.
  • Go for a walk and share something that you saw. (Don’t forget to practice social distancing!)
  • Connect with a friend or family member over video chat or phone.
  • Perform a random act of kindness.
  • Write a list of five things you are grateful for.
