What do you collect? Did your parents or grandparents collect, did they pass their collections on to you? Do you collect stamps, baseball cards, coins, etc.? During the pandemic, did you unearth some collectibles that you did not know that you had. Collecting does not always have to be for monetary reasons, it can also be fun and educational too. You can learn some history by collecting various objects. Collecting can run in families, my grandfather collected stamps, also my grandmothers collected blue and green glass. My dad was into collecting the state quarters when they first came out in 1999. He even differentiated where they were minted: Philadelphia or Denver. In the past, my mom collected Precious Moments. When I was little, I used to collect pencils from the different places went, such as a pencil from Cabot Creamery in Vermont. This was an interesting way to remember the places I’ve been. Whatever your passion is in collecting, whether it be stamps, marbles, action figures: here at the library, we have materials on collecting various objects. Search the library catalog for materials on collectibles, and request materials through curbside pickup. Also look at Hoopla for more information about collecting.
