This February, our Nation will celebrate Black History Month, as it has every year since 1976. This year’s theme will focus on The Black Family: Representation, Identity, and Diversity. The family history of Black Americans spans across many states, nations, and continents. Likewise, the Black family has many different representations in literature, film, music, sociology, anthropology, and social policy.
The titles in this list not only celebrate classic literature, but also modern stories and voices of Black authors.
