Ode to a Cow

July 13th, 2021 · 2 Comments · City Library, Main Branch

Have you herd? Today, July 13 is Cow Appreciation day. Back in 2004, Chick-fil A created Cow Appreciation Day, to go along with their slogan “Eat Mor Chikin.” Celebrate this day by reading books on cows and other barnyard animals. Checkout the library for books about different animals. Below, is a poem called an Ode to a Cow, from The Old Farmer’s Almanac from 1938, I hope it brings a smile to your day.

Yesterday I came to the library with my grandson and my husband. I was pleasantly surprised at the Children’s Room offerings. We thoroughly enjoyed ourselves doing many animal activities. We picked up the bag of craft activities and did 2 projects yesterday. My grandson loved the projects. We are tracking our reading minutes. Thank you very much for such a great program for all ages to enjoy.

    Hi Stephanie,

Wow! We’re so happy that you and your family are enjoying the library and the activities we are offering. Thank you so much for letting us know and for your kind words. I’ll pass this along to the Children’s Room staff.

    Thanks Again,
