Films of the Atomic Age

October 27th, 2021 · No Comments · City Library, Events, Main Branch

We all remember the events of the Cold War- but do we remember the films? For almost 50 years, cinema reflected the amazement and anxiety that came with the power of nuclear weapons, and the tensions of the Cold War.

Join the Manchester City Library for an evening of film history on Friday, November 19, 2021 at 7:00 PM via Zoom. Film scholar Liz Ryan will cover well-known classics like Dr. Strangelove and The Day After, and hidden gems like Miracle Mile and Testament.

Join us on Saturday, November 20, 2021 at 11:30am EST in the Library’s Auditorium for a screening of the 1983 film Testament, rated PG.
