Do you remember playing Clue as child, or is it still a favorite game? This game first debuted after World War II in 1949, both in England and here in the United States. There were differences between the English and American versions. In 1985, a movie was made based on the game. We thought it would be fun to create “our clue game,” with a library theme. We used the basic ideas from the board game with 9 rooms/areas, 6 characters, and 6 tools. Read our background story on “our” version of Clue. Checkout our display at the library, read a mystery, suspense, or a thriller. Who knows maybe you have a mind for solving mysteries or a talent for writing them?

Book carts move around the library all day long. No one even really notices them. The underside of the cart seemed the perfect place to hide the portrait. It stayed there all week moving around the building, unseen. Early Monday morning it found its way into the middle of the books on display in the Children’s Room until it was discovered and re-hung in it’s proper place. Oh Patches, you clever genius!
