Christmas time is one of my favorite times of the year. Christmas has different meanings to everyone. Come to the library, checkout the Periodic Table of Christmas. Inspired by the Periodic Table of Elements, this table includes many “elements” of Christmas. Mirroring the original table, this one has subcategories too. These subcategories include the 12 Days of Christmas, Advent songs, Christmas songs, selections from the Nutcracker, Christmas animated TV specials, Christmas Carol variations, Santa Claus and his reindeer, the Nativity, Christmas movies, and Christmas symbols. Representing Hydrogen in this table is a Christmas Tree. A fun fact about Christmas trees, having one in the home and decorating it became popular when Queen Victoria and her German husband Prince Albert had one in the palace. President Benjamin Harrison, not a well-known president, but he was the first president to display a Christmas Tree in the White House in 1889, and the tradition continues today. This table has something for everybody, you’re never too old to watch a Christmas animated TV special or try to dance to the Nutcracker. Check out the display at the library and visit Hoopla for more Christmas selections.
