Marc Chagall: Joy, Color & a Celebration of Jewish Culture

March 20th, 2023 · No Comments · Art Room, City Library, Culturally Curious Art Series, Events, Main Branch, Virtual Programs

Join the Manchester City Library on April 17, 2023, from 7-8 pm via Zoom for the first installment of our Culturally Curious Art Series! This wildly popular art series, presented by Jane Oneail, is back for the second year with a fantastic array of topics including popular artists and local art.

Marc Chagall’s colorful, abstracted paintings integrate a variety of elements from the modernist movements of the early twentieth century. His work is singular among his peers for its incorporation of Jewish themes, reflecting the artist’s cultural roots. This program provides an introduction to Chagall’s personal and professional resilience, his work and favorite subjects.

Jane Oneail curates and delivers art appreciation programs to audiences throughout New England and beyond. Jane holds a master’s in Art History from Boston University and a master’s in Education from Harvard University. A New Hampshire native, she has worked at some of the state’s most esteemed cultural institutions, including the League of New Hampshire Craftsmen, where she served as Executive Director, and the Currier Museum of Art, where she held the role of Senior Educator. Jane has also taught at the college level for more than a decade, most recently at Southern New Hampshire University. For more information, visit iamculturallycurious.com.
