Artist: Tess
Title: Recycled Art Mushroom
Medium: Cardboard and paper
Story: My yard has been plagued with mushrooms lately due to all the rain, and this inspired me to make a recycled art piece for the staff art show. Mushrooms thrive on decomposing material, so the image of life coming from death seemed fitting for art made from trash!

Title: For the Beauty of the Earth
Medium: Photographs
Story: I was inspired by the hymn: For the Beauty of the Earth, written by Folliott Sandford Pierpoint. All of the photos showcase beauty of sunrises, sunsets, and changing of different seasons: summer to fall to winter. These photos were taken in New Hampshire.

Artist: Dori
Title: Happy Mother’s Day
Medium: Watercolors on paper
Story: This was a Mother’s Day card I made for my mother years ago. She framed it and had it hanging in her kitchen ever since. She has passed away and I reclaimed the painting recently when we were clearing out her house.

Artist: Alice
Title: Gouda Dreams
Medium: Gouache, colored pencil
Story: Do sleeping rats dream of cheese?

Artist: Deb
Title: Bear Gazing at a Wind Chime
Medium: Game camera photo Story: We live in Hooksett and are visited a couple times a year by a Mother bear and her cubs. She is often given orphan cubs by the game warden as she has proven herself to be an exceptional parent. This year the cubs were grown and she was perusing our yard by herself enjoying the quiet until a wind chime sounded above her. Hence the craning of her neck as she tries to discover what is making the noise.

Artist: Deb
Title: Dragon Card
Medium: acrylic paint
Story: I just love dragons and dragon lore so I thought I would paint one as if it was artwork for a playing card.

Artist: Lisa
Title: Celtic Mandalas in Blue Green & Green Gold (2)
Medium: Glitter gel ink on paper

Artist: Yvonne L.
Title: Butterfly Fantasy
Medium: Stained-glass and faceted glass beads and prisms.
Story: I’ve always been captivated by stained glass lamps, windows and sun-catchers. One of the first pieces of stained-glass creations that I made is my green fantasy butterfly. At home my husband keeps it hanging in the window by his easy chair so he can enjoy it. When I retire, I hope to continue with this craft and make stained glass windows for my home. I envision the four seasons in a window – I can see it in my imagination.

Artist: Yvonne L.
Title: The Lovegood (a lacy crocheted scarf)
Medium: Grey yarn
Story: I admire that wonderful witch from the Harry potter series, Ms. Luna Lovegood. Her outrageous and adventurous fashion taste is fun and inspirational. In the series she wears many crocheted pieces of clothing. Being an avid crocheter, of course I noticed everything. It took me many, many times watching that Harry Potter movie to figure out how Luna Lovegood’s crocheted grey scarf was done. Yes, I could have referred to the Harry potter knitting and crocheting books up in the Art Room, but where’s the fun in that? I’m grateful to Luna for warning us about the Nargles.

Artist: Yvonne L.
Title: Macramé Keychain
Medium: Green paracord and brass key fob
Story: This is from one of my adult take & make crafts that I put together this year for our library patrons. There’s something very relaxing and meditative about macramé once you get into the groove. I guess the kits were a hit because I received pictures of keychains that my fellow crafters made from them. Huzzah and well done!

Artist: Andrew
Title: The Lighthouse

Medium: Jam Jar, Foil, Model Magic, Acrylic Paints
Story: I made a similar fairy house for fall with a pumpkin, and I really enjoyed the process of making it! This time I wanted to have a red mushroom with white spots that could light up!
