Taste of the Olympics with the Olympics logo of 5 rings with a continent in each ring

France is hosting the Olympic games this year, which kicks off at the end of July. There will be 206 nations competing, each with their own unique cuisines, some of which you can check out in our Taste of the Olympics display. See what’s on display in our library catalog. In France, bread, wine and cheese are staples; they are essential to the culture and traditions in French food. For the Japanese, rice is their staple food, and it is common for them to eat rice for every meal of the day. What is considered American cuisine? What comes to my mind is cheeseburgers and fries, apple pie and Thanksgiving turkey dinner. What do you consider American cuisine? Visit us at the library, and peruse a variety of cookbooks from many different nations. While you’re here, check out our Adult Summer Reading Program mission: Eat Around the World. Happy cooking, and Bon Appetit!
