Manchester City Library is proud to once again be partnering with local historian Stan Garrity for another walk through Manchester’s forgotten history. This time we will be taking a tour of the famous Valley St. Cemetery and hear the fascinating stories that Stan has uncovered of the cemetery’s more obscure residents. It’s the perfect way to get into the Halloween spirit, appreciate the beautiful fall foliage, and learn something new! So come with us for a walk on the eerie side.
Stan is a noted local historian and Manchester native who has worked closely with the Manchester Historic Association, City Hall, and the Library to research the forgotten aspects of Manchester’s history. He has been hosting tours of the cemetery for years and always has new tales to share.
The event will start in the rotunda of the Main Library at 405 Pine St, at 2 PM. From there we will walk as a group to the cemetery for the tour before returning to the Main Library rotunda around 4 PM.
