Celebrate Winter Break at the Library!

Looking for something to do during winter break?  Check out the cool programs for all ages that are happening for free courtesy of library trust funds at the Manchester City Library.

Monday, February 21st – Story-time in the Gallery – 11:30 am, Currier Art Museum: Join Ms. Karyn and Ms. Michelle as we read a story and discuss a related art work at the museum.  For all ages.

Tuesday, February 22nd – Musician Steve Blunt – 2:00 pm. Auditorium, Main Library: A family program for patrons of all ages featuring mostly humorous original compositions and traditional American & multicultural selections. All ages are welcome.  Registration is not required.  Limited seating. Call 624-6550 ext. 328.

Tuesday, February 22nd – Lego Club – 2:00 pm.  West Manchester Community Library: Kids of all ages can build vehicles, buildings & anything else they want with LEGOS provided by the Library. Registration is suggested.  Call 624-6560

Tuesday, February 22nd – Travel Club – 4:00 pm, Winchell Room, Main Library: Join us as we travel to Mexico.  Learn about the culture and food of Mexico.  We will also be creating some artwork by using a technique from Mexico.  Refreshments will be served. Tuesday, February 22nd – Teen Movie Series – 4:00 pm, Auditorium, Main Library: This month’s feature will be The Last Airbender. Popcorn will be provided.  Grades 6-12.  For more information, call 624-6550 ext. 342.

Wednesday, February 23rdNintendo Wii Competition, 1:00 pm, West Manchester Community Library: For ages 6-12 years.  Call 624-6560 for more information.

Wednesday, February 23rd – Wednesday Afternoon Movie, 1:00 pm, Auditorium, Main Library: We will be showing The Indian in the Cupboard (PG).  For more information, please call 624-6550 ext. 307.

Wednesday, February 23rd – Teen Cooking Club – 3:00 pm, Winchell Room, Main Library: Teen Cooking Club is a great way to learn the basics of cooking. Teens ages 11-18 are welcome to make their favorite dishes and also explore new types of foods.  All materials will be provided.   Bring your appetite!  For more information, 624-6550 ext. 342.

Thursday, February 24th – Critter’n Creatures, 2:00 pm, West Manchester Community Library: This is a hands-on. Live animal show with bearded dragons, alligators, snakes, hedgehogs, turtles and many more animals.  This event will take place at the Senior Center next door to the West Manchester Library.  For more information, please call 624-6560.

Thursday, February 24th – Anime Club – 2:30 pm, Winchell Room, Main Library: The anime club is open to teens in grades 6 to 12 and is an informal club where fans can gather to play cards, watch movies, discuss their favorite characters, and draw! Thursday, February 24th – Guitar Hero – 4:00 pm, Winchell Room, Main Library: Compete at the library.  Registration for this event is preferred. For more information, please call 624-6550, ext 342.

Friday, February 25th – Life Size Trivia Pursuit – 2:00 pm, Winchell Room, Main Library: Come test your knowledge on subjects such as Entertainment, Picture Books, Fiction, Folktales, and many more.  For ages K-12.  Registration is required.  Call 624-6550 ext. 328.

Friday, February 25th – Family Movie – 3:00 pm, West Manchester Community Library: We will be showing the movie, You, Again (PG).  For more information, call 624-6560.

Friday, February 25th – Stuffed Animal Sleepover – 4:00 pm, Winchell Room, Main Library: Have you ever wondered what happens after the library closes for the night?  Bring your favorite stuffed animal and leave them overnight with us.  We will take pictures of their overnight antics.  You can pick them up the next morning at Family Story-time.  Grades K to 5.  Registration is required.  Call 624-6550 ext. 328.

Saturday, February 26th – Family Game Day – 2:00 pm, West Manchester Community Library: Play Junior Pictionary and win prizes.  Sponsored by the Friends of the West Manchester Library.

We’re really excited by all the fun things we have planned for Winterfest and we look forward to seeing you at the LEGO Club, at a movie, competing at Wii, or listening to a neat story you’ve never heard before.
