In preparation for the impending weekend storm the City of Manchester has launched an emergency webpage on the official city website (www.manchesternh.gov); the new webpage is www.manchesternh.gov/emergency. The emergency page can also be accessed through the “emergency information center” button located in the banner of the homepage of the city website.
The page is a comprehensive listing of what to do before, during and after an emergency. It also includes guidelines for general storm preparedness and other emergency contact information and resources.
The public is also reminded, and encouraged, to sign-up for the City of Manchester’s Nixle Alert service (www.nixle.com) and/or Twitter Service to receive text messages or e-mail emergency alert notifications. Both services are free to the public and sign-up can be accessed through the emergency webpage or on the homepage of the city website.
Hurricane Irene is on her way, whether we like it or not. Be prepared!
