The library is closing today at 2 p.m. (October 29th) in anticipation of the storm. Stay safe everyone!

Also, The City of Manchester Emergency Operations Center (EOC) has been opened in preparation of Hurricane Sandy.

The city has placed an emergency information link on the homepage of the city website at www.manchesternh.gov with storm updates and emergency preparedness information. This link will be updated periodically throughout the storm. The City of Manchester will continue to provide media updates through press releases, nixle and twitter alerts, and on the homepage of the city website (www.manchesternh.gov).

The public is reminded, and encouraged, to sign-up for the City of Manchester’s Nixle Alert service (www.nixle.com) and/or Twitter Service to receive text messages or e-mail emergency alert notifications. Both services are free to the public and sign-up can be accessed through the emergency webpage or on the homepage of the city website.

Throughout the storm residents with an emergency should call 911. Residents who need to report a non-emergency (i.e. down tree limbs, clogged storm drains etc.) can call the Emergency Operations Center directly at 665-6802 or 668-1547. Representatives from city departments will be standing by to address any storm related occurrences.

At this time the City of Manchester has not activated a shelter.
